So since I’m sure everyone can see I haven’t done an update of my financial picture in a while so I figured it would be best to start with that and slowly work my way.
Due to travelling the last 2 months to parts of Asia, my budget took a really bad hit. I now hate seeing a balance on my credit card statement, but that’s life. Since the trip was not planned in advance, I didn’t have too much time to budget or properly research my destinations. Lesson learned.
Here is what I have been up to recently.
Finance wise:
- I have a total balance of $1200, spread over 2 credit cards which will be cleared up at the end of this month.
- I have been making $60.00 biweekly contributions to the Vacation fund. (Thank god for automatic transfers)
- Make $80.00 biweekly contributions to EF.
- Reduce RRSP payments and finish paying off student loans. Right now my student loans sit at $19000.
- Continue making payments to the insurance fund. $4200 by November 30. I have no idea what I am going to do about this other than shop around and hopefully find a cheaper alternative for my insurance needs.
- Have at least 1o NO SPEND DAYS!- Clearly did not happen.
Work/Side gig:
- I have a few side projects that I have been working on recently and that round is finally done. From now I will be a lot pickier in regards what projects I pick up as I am finding that I am giving the “friend of a friend” too frequently.
- I suck at the bill collection part of the process, especially when there are friends involved but I will get that done and have everything cleared up by the end of the month.
Personal:
- I have starting running and biking very regularly now. I made a pact with a friend and she is holding me to it. Its nice to have someone push you on days when you are too tired to get up and do anything.
- Be more active in volunteering. This has always been a priority and will continue to be so.

So glad to see you back and in full action. Thought you were lost for a bit there. Even though you were busy and had some unplanned events it seems like you kept everything in control.
Glad to see you are back. Was too long.
